What did my marketing actually produce?
Separate media costs, included marketing costs and recorded inquiry-to-customer results on a clearly stated reporting basis.
What Did My Marketing Actually Produce?
Use your own figures for deterministic planning or analysis. Inputs remain in this browser. Models do not verify business outcomes; contribution is not net profit.
How to use this tool
Bring: Period, media spend and known additional costs. Recorded inquiries, qualified inquiries, acquired customers, attributed revenue and variable costs are optional.
- Use one reporting period and identify which additional costs are known.
- Keep platform-reported conversions separate from recorded unique inquiries and customers.
- Confirm matching cohort and cost scope before calculating cross-stage ratios; confirm attribution before revenue-based metrics.
- Review cost basis and missing inputs alongside every result, then reconcile your records before changing spending.
Hypothetical example — fictional inputs, not a forecast
A fictional month has $800 media, $200 additional costs, 20 inquiries, 10 qualified inquiries and 4 customers from the same group. Attributed revenue is $4,000 and variable cost $1,600.
Media CPL is $40; total included CPL $50; included cost per customer $250. Contribution after included marketing is $1,400 and revenue divided by media spend is 5.
Use these figures only to understand the method. Replace them with your own consistent inputs.
Read the result in context
The $1,400 is contribution toward overhead and other excluded costs, not net profit. A revenue-to-media-spend ratio does not prove causation or business health.
Assumptions and limitations
- Mixed or unconfirmed cohorts withhold cross-stage ratios.
- Unknown additional costs use an explicit ad-spend-only basis, not a complete cost claim.
- Attribution and source records are owner supplied, and zero denominators remain undefined.

Questions before you start
Are platform conversions the same as customers?
No. Keep the platform event definition and counting method separate from verified unique inquiries and acquired customers.
Why are some metrics unavailable?
Missing inputs, zero denominators, mismatched cohorts or unconfirmed attribution can make a calculation unsupported.
