What would it take to reach my customer goal?
Translate an owner-selected customer goal into a hypothetical inquiry requirement and media budget.
What Would It Take to Reach My Customer Goal?
Use your own figures for deterministic planning or analysis. Inputs remain in this browser. Models do not verify business outcomes; contribution is not net profit.
How to use this tool
Bring: Customer goal and period, close rate and assumed media cost per inquiry. Management, setup and contribution per customer are optional.
- Choose the customer goal and period, then supply a close rate from counts or an explicitly chosen percentage.
- Enter your own media cost-per-inquiry assumption. Do not treat a guessed value as measured performance.
- Add management and setup costs explicitly, including zero where none apply.
- Compare up to three named hypothetical scenarios and check capacity before committing.
Hypothetical example — fictional inputs, not a forecast
The fictional goal is 10 customers in a month, with a 25% close rate and $50 media cost per inquiry. Management is $200, setup $100 and contribution per customer $400.
The model needs 40 inquiries and $2,000 media spend. Included campaign cost is $2,300; modeled contribution after those costs is $1,700.
Use these figures only to understand the method. Replace them with your own consistent inputs.
Read the result in context
Inquiry requirements round up to whole inquiries. The scenario shows what your assumptions imply, not how much demand exists or what advertising will deliver.
Assumptions and limitations
- No demand, traffic, close rate or customer outcome is forecast.
- Unknown optional costs withhold the total rather than silently becoming zero.
- Contribution remaining is before overhead, taxes and excluded costs.

Questions before you start
Where does the cost-per-inquiry assumption come from?
You supply it, ideally from comparable records with the same definition and period. The tool does not invent a benchmark.
What if the close rate is zero?
A positive customer goal cannot produce a finite inquiry requirement at a zero close rate. Review the assumption and process.
